ILKONSAARI
Ilkonsaari is a 1.5 km long Island with typical Saimaa features. The island has sandy and rocky beaches as well as different types of forests. An interesting cultural addition to the island is the five Orthodox tsasounas, which tell their own story of the spread of Christianity from the Greek island of Athos through Russia to Finland and Petsamo. You can explore the island on your own or with a Finnish-speaking guide. Time on land on the island about 1 1/2 hours.
We will publish the schedule of Ilkonsaari island cruises in spring 2024. Ilkonsaari island cruises are held on a few Saturdays in June and July based on other cruises.
