Satamosaari and the Suur-Saimaan Ajot
Satamosaari is an island with a harbour and saunas managed by the South Karelia Recreation Foundation. The island lagoon is a summer oasis where the winds do not blow. There are 2 saunas on the island, which are used by boaters.
Suur-Saimaan Ajot is the largest speedboat event in Finland. An estimated 75 boats will take part, with speeds ranging from 40-100 knots (74-182.5 km/h). The fastest boats can travel from Lappeenranta to Puumala in less than half an hour. The cruise is designed so that all boats pass MS Saimaa Margareta.

On the way back from Satamosaari, you can pre-order a lactose-free/gluten-free salmon soup meal for 18,- eur/person (incl. VAT).
During the cruise, you can also buy a snack from the café. It is possible to bring your own sauna/beach equipment, for example in a cooler, but please note that the WHOLE VESSEL IS A RESTAURANT AREA, and it is NOT POSSIBLE TO EAT YOUR OWN FOOD/FRUITS ON BOAT.
